IMMS Institut für Mikroelektronik- und Mechatronik-Systeme gemeinnützige GmbH

As a state-owned extra-universitarian institute of Thuringia (one of the 16 German states), IMMS's purpose is to act as a service provider for small and medium-sized companies. Its main competence is the application-oriented advance development of products in the field of microelectronics and mechatronical systems, and in system engineering.

Mechatronics

The IMMS single- and multi-axis precision drive systems are designed, assembled, analyzed and tested at the company. These mechatronical systems can be used in a wide range of applications such as

  • laser precision processing
  • material testing
  • wafer inspection
  • lithography
  • coordinate measuring technology

System Design

Particular emphasis of system design is put on the following areas of research:

  • optimization of platforms for industrial applications
  • state-of-the-art approaches to system design with components of the information and communication technologies
  • development of highly-efficient design processes

Microelectronics

IMMS concentrates its research in microelectronics on:

  • design methods for integrated analog and mixed-signal circuits
  • design of customer-specific circuits (ASICs)
  • extension of the application limits of technologies

Measuring Technology

The spectrum of the IMMS measuring technology ranges from investigations of individual transistors on wafer-level, cells or customer-specific circuits, circuit design, design and structure of evaluation and application boards to prototype solutions. Please refer to the IMMS Website for details of the competences of the IMMS department of industrial electronics and measuring technology.
