D-Case Editor, an open source tool for assurance cases

Yutaka Matsuno

We present D-Case Editor, an open source tool for assurance cases. Assurance cases are documented body of evidence that provides valid and convincing argument that the system are adequately safe/dependable in a given application and environment. Assurance cases are widely used in UK and EU for safety regulation.

The tool development is, however, in earlier stages. D-Case Editor is an assurance case editor being developed in Japanese national project called DEOS for over three years, and now will be an open source. In this presentation we show a brief summary of assurance cases and current features of D-Case Editor, and discuss possible collaboration of the tool development in open source community.
