The BWGV - Baden-Württembergischer Genossenschaftsverband (association of cooperatives in Baden-Württemberg) is one of the largest and most influential economic organizations in the southwest of Germany. The BWGV is the registered auditing entity for all its member enterprises. All of the member businesses share the cooperative structure as their common denominator. This includes banks (Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken) and agricultural cooperatives (Raiffeisen cooperatives) as well as cooperatives in trade, craftsmanship, energy and services. In addition to representing and promoting its members' interests, the BWGV provides cross-sector advocacy, education and expert support on legal, tax related and economic questions. OSADL was accepted BWGV member as a prerequisite for being incorporated as cooperative in 2006.

The BWGV is fostering cooperatives with special regard to providing platforms for Open Innovation between companies as recently reported in an article about digitalization and cooperatives published on the BWGV Homepage: Ländle 4.0 - Digitalisierung und Genossenschaften (article only available in German language).

A more recent article stresses the mechanisms how cooperatives help to cope with the change of paradigm from analog to digital information technologies: Digitalisierung hilft sich selbst: Die Philosophie der OSADL eG (article only available in German language).

At the end of July 2017, Baden-Wuerttemberg's minister of science Theresia Bauer visited OSADL in Heidelberg together with Dr. Eckhardt Ott, Chairman of DGRV - Deutscher Genossenschafts- und Raiffeisenverband e. V. (German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Association) and Dr. Roman Glaser, President of BWGV. Learn more about the visit in the GenoGraph article Ministerin besucht Open-Innovation-Genossenschaft (article only available in German language).
