ROS-Industrial: from craft to product

Mirko Bordignon, Fraunhofer IPA, Stuttgart, Germany

The ROS-Industrial project is gaining acceptance as an effective means to leverage open-source robotics innovation in industrial environments. In order to transition it from one-of-a-kind system integration projects to standard software applications, we increasingly need to consider aspects that the RT Linux community has significant experience of, such as methods to assess RT requirements, legal concerns and software testing. The talk will briefly present the project and illustrate possible points of contact between our communities.
