Rationale
One of the most frequently asked questions in the context of Open Source software deals with the conditions under which own source code must be disclosed. Such disclosure obligations may result from the copyleft of certain Open Source licenses. They may force a software developer to use the original license for so-called "derivative work". But what is "derivative work", how is it defined? This exactly is the main question that the 2011 edition of the OSADL Legal Seminar will be focusing on. OSADL is glad to present internationally acknowledged and leading law professors and lawyers who accepted the invitation to lead the seminar.
Refresher
This seminar will be built, in some ways, on earlier legal seminars on the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL) version 2 and 3 and on the implication of patents on Open Source licenses. Participants who were unable to attend these earlier seminars are invited for a refresher course that will precede the actual seminar.

Please note that the seminar will be held in German language. Simultaneous interpreting will be provided, if requested.
For practical reasons, the seminar will focus on legal conditions in Europe. Whenever possible, however, other regions will be considered as weil.

Access fee
Employees of OSADL member companies have free access to the refresher course and to the seminar. However, registration is still required. For non-members, the following fees apply:
