Greg Kroah-Hartman
Linux kernel developer, Novell
Greg Kroah-Hartman is the current maintainer of a number of Linux kernel subsystems such as PCI, USB, driver core, etc. He is also the maintainer of the Linux hotplug project and creator of a project that facilitates the naming of devices in a Linux system (udev). Additionally, he helps to maintain several Linux distributions with respect to the subsystems and projects he is maintaining.
He is the author and co-author of books on Linux drivers and kernel development and used to be a contributing editor for Linux Journal. He also contributes articles to LWN.net.
In January 2007, Greg Kroah-Hartman started the Linux driver project. This project has the ambitious goal to write drivers for all types of hardware, for free, for any company that wishes to have them. So far they are succeeding at this task, with many companies already taking advantage of it. Greg is currently working full time on this Linux Driver project with the blessing of his employer Novell, where he holds the position of Fellow.
