- Download kernel, unpack it, download patch, patch the kernel

cd linux-3.12.33-rt47

bzip2 -d patch-3.12.33-rt47.bz2
patch -p1 <patch-3.12.33-rt47
- Configure the kernel, enable CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT
|
- Compile, link and install the kernel
make
make modules_install install
- Reboot and select the new kernel
